For Aslı Dinç and Zeynep Okyay, the main objective of their participation-based work is to collect information about the future visions of people from diverse backgrounds. In particular, they focused on the visions of migrants. At the centre of their work was the observation that migration is always based on conflicts with the future. The duo, who have been working together since 2018, concerns itself with the visions of the future of people in big cities that arise from their current worries and fears as well as their dreams.  They are particularly interested in districts with a diverse population structure. In Berlin, they worked in the Nollendorfkiez , Neuköln and Kreuzberg.

They interviewed artists, sociologists, architects and curators. The results of the interviews will be made available in a podcast. Among the participants in the workshops in various Berlin districts were people born in Berlin as well as new Berliners who have been in Berlin for less than ten years. The workshops began with the question of dreams, fears, hopes and the resulting ideas for the future. The participants were divided into two groups. One group embodied the present, the other the future.

During the interaction, the participants developed characters in the form of role plays. Dinç and Okyay processed the resulting acoustic recordings into sound recordings that can be heard in the exhibition area. The participants often imagined themselves in the future as transhuman beings, as animals or as hybrid creatures. Definitions of present and future characters created by each participant were visualized and generated by artificial intelligence turned into a playing card. The future characters on the cards are available to play with, and the figures can be exchanged and collected as desired. The third project of the artist duo consists of a collection of anonymously expressed wishes for the future. In bars, museums and bookstores, they placed boxes with the question: “What would you take with you into the future?” The result of this extensive survey can also be viewed in the exhibition.
